Located on level 83 of Crown Sydney, the Sky Deck offers panoramic views of Sydney’s iconic harbour and stunning city skyline. Visua’s interpretive signage for Crown’s Sky Deck traces the history of the site and its transformation from industrial wasteland to the stunning six hectare Barangaroo headland comprising open spaces, gardens and world-class architecture. It also follows the inception, design and construction of the iconic architectural marvel that is Crown Sydney.
Situated within a narrow corridor and working within the constraints of a 9 metre by 1.4 metre recess, Visua designed a timeline in the form of three enormous illuminated glass panels which graphically blend with the dark grey granite tiles of the architectural interiors. Using the inherent grid caused by the grout lines of the surrounding granite tiles, Visua aligned imagery to the grid allowing graphics and architecture to marry seamlessly.
